Vision and Values
Our vision is for sound futures to be a citywide development agency, supporting young people’s music making of the highest possible quality across the full range of musical styles. We achieve this by:
- developing strategic partnerships and providing coherence of approach
- drawing in additional resources and working towards sustainable results
- working on a local level to ensure relevance, local ownership and ongoing local support for participants
Placing children and young people at the core of our values, we embrace music as a powerful means of expression which affects the lives of individuals and communities, transcends boundaries and brings about social change.
Through tireless advocacy and cutting edge project commissions, we:
- promote individual self-esteem and achievement
- build positive relationships
- improve the physical and emotional wellbeing of the young people we work with
- celebrate diversity, access and inclusion
- craft a creative, safer and tolerant society.
Wherever possible we place our projects within the contexts of A Creative Future 2 and the National Curriculum. All project activity occurs during out of hours learning in school and community settings, with the exception of Early Years activity.
